Frequently asked questions
How do I add a new item?
Tap the + button in the top right of the app. You can take a photo right away or pick an image from your photo library. Then enter a description, room, storage place and optional tags.
How do I set the description, storage place and tags?
You enter the description, tags, storage place and room yourself – fast and precise, exactly the way you need it. As you type, the app suggests storage places and tags you've used before. That way you never have to enter recurring details twice.
How do I find a specific item again?
Use the search bar at the top of the app. You can search by description, tags, storage place or room. Alternatively, tap the room chips at the top of the list to filter by room.
Where is my data stored?
All items, photos and storage places are stored exclusively on your local iPhone or iPad. No data is transmitted to external servers automatically. You can find more information in the privacy policy.
How do I back up my data?
In the app, go to Settings → Backup. There you can back up your inventory, including photos, to your own iCloud – either automatically once a day or at the tap of a button. You can also export your entire inventory as a file and store it, for example, in the Files app, on a NAS or via AirDrop.
How do I transfer my data to a new device?
Install the app on the new device, go to Settings → Backup and restore your iCloud backup – or import a previously exported file. You can choose whether the entries are added to your existing data or whether all existing data is replaced.
Can I assign a location to an item?
Yes! When adding or editing an item, you can optionally save your current GPS location. This is especially handy for items in garages, basements or outdoor areas.
How do I change an item's storage place?
Swipe an entry to the right in the list and tap "Move" – or open the item and edit the storage place directly. You can also long-press an entry to open the context menu.
How do I manage rooms, storage places and tags?
You can create, rename and delete rooms, storage places and tags in advance. Rooms and storage places can additionally be moved all at once via a bulk move. When you add an item, the app suggests matching storage places and tags as soon as you start typing.
What does the app cost?
The app is free – you can record your first 20 items at no cost. If you want to store an unlimited number of items, unlock WoLiegtWas Pro: a one-time €4.99, no subscription. Buy once, use forever.
Which iOS version is required?
The app requires iOS 17 or later and runs on iPhone and iPad.
